The historic “Hotel Lindenwirt” and its affiliated wine estate have created the “Weinerlebnis” wine experience in the ancient vaulted wine cellar of the Drosselmüller in Rüdesheim’s famous Drosselgasse. The free tour of the wine cellar is a unique experience. Tastings of fine wines with audiovisual presentations and regional specialities or even guided wine rambles through the vineyards offer guests the opportunity to learn more about the fascinating world of viniculture.
Wine tasting on the water
A winetasting on a riverboat trip through the Middle Rhine Valley – a World Heritage Site – is an unforgettable yet relaxing experience. The wines taste even better when served against the backdrop of precipitous slate and quartzite vineyard slopes that surround Rüdesheim and Assmannshausen. “Wine Tastings on the Water” take place every second Sunday in the month from April to September and depart from jetty 12 in Rüdesheim at 17:10.
The wine depot run by the Climenti family is a great way for visitors to explore a cross-section of wine products from the Rheingau region. Tastings of top Rheingau wines take place either in the courtyard or the vaulted cellar. A walk through the vineyards in the company of the winemaker is a fascinating experience. The tour begins with a cable car ride up to the Niederwald Monument. The return journey is on foot and a panoramic viewpoint provides the setting for the first tasting of a zesty Riesling.
WINEWALKS for individual guests
The vineyard landscapes surrounding Rüdesheim are an irresistible invitation to walk or hike. Wine rambles take place regularly from April to October offering guests the opportunity to learn more about the work of the winemaker and local attractions. There are three Rüdesheim Rieslings to try on the way and a tasting glass to take home. Wine rambles take place every Saturday at 17:00 and cost € 10 per person.
