The Rüdesheim district Presberg lies far from the bustle of tourism on the Rhine. In "Monte Preso," as the place is affectionately called, there is silence. The name was coined by the former parish priest Theo Zentgraf, called Zeta; he was a friend of Italy.

The starting portal near the Weißenthurm forester's lodge is located at a historic site: In the Middle Ages, the Rheingau Hedge, a fortification made of bent hedges, ran here. It started in Walluf and ended in Lorchhausen.

The path starts with crossing the state road L3272. Caution is advised here! Shortly afterward, you immerse yourself in the silence of the forest, which presents itself in a particularly varied way. After almost 2 km, you reach the old Kissner beech. It has survived many generations and shows signs of old age. Shortly after, you reach the Grohlochtal valley via a path, a secluded valley embraced by forested slopes, where the forest animals gather.

Following the forest road, you reach the crossing to the other side of the valley. An old hollow path leads up to the meadows amid the wooded slopes. After crossing the road, the path reveals a completely different side: panoramic views from the Rheingau Alp far across the Wispertaunus.

After descending into the upper Presberg valley, the ascent to the strikingly protruding Kerzer Kopf (407 m) follows. Here the panorama presents itself once more in all its splendor. The view extends into the Hunsrück. Slightly off the path is a barbecue area with a shelter. If an additional 3 km are not too much, a short side path to the Devil's Rock can be taken back and forth shortly after the Kerzer Kopf.

The last stage of the route leads zigzag over open fields and past horse paddocks to the starting point.
