Goldene Mitte des Rheins

Experience a delightful day in the heart of the Rheingau – with wine, sweeping views, and a passion for hiking!
Our excursion begins with a leisurely stroll through the lively and charming Rüdesheim, before we glide up over the vines to the impressive Niederwalddenkmal via cable car. Here, we are greeted with our first spectacular view of the Rhine Valley – a taste of what awaits us.
From there, we hike for about two hours along well-maintained paths “through the vineyards”, straight through the wine-growing areas, towards the famous red wine village of Assmannshausen. The trail is pleasant to walk, with no significant inclines, and offers wonderful views of the legendary Rhine Valley along the way – a UNESCO World Heritage Site full of history and nature.
At selected locations, we take small breaks to indulge: four different wines are tasted directly in the vineyards – where they were grown. Along with this, we provide interesting information about grape varieties, terroir, and tradition. At a particularly beautiful spot, we take a break and enjoy a hearty, regional winemaker's picnic – a true highlight in the open air.
Upon arriving in Assmannshausen, we wind down the day in a relaxed manner. We leisurely return to Rüdesheim by boat. On board, we serve you a cup of coffee or a soft drink – as you gaze over the passing Rhine Valley and the day draws to a delightful close.
