The scenic approximately 15 km long circular route Historienweg Rüdesheim via Assmannshausen impresses especially with sections through sometimes very steep vineyards as well as the numerous information on sights along the way and the history of the region. A total of 16 info stations form an adequate substitute for a local tour guide. A bit of fitness is required for the ascent from Assmannshausen back up to the vineyards, while a touch of adventure surrounds the partly rope-secured section of the Rheinsteig through mystical forest around the Bacharacher Kopf.
