Initially, the Rheinsteig® leads us through the charming vineyard landscape, numerous views back to the Binger Loch or ahead to the left-Rhine castles Rheinstein and Reichenstein spoil us. The path runs through diverse landscape forms and gains additional attractiveness through these changes. So there is something for everyone on this stage, and at the latest after reaching the highest point at the Paul Claus Hut, also the ascents of the first third are forgotten.
The cultural highlight at the end of the hike is the worth-seeing town Lorch am Rhein with its Gothic church.

Unser Tipp

Historical
Lorch am Rhein belonged to the territory of the Free State of "Flaschenhals." From 1919 to 1923, this term was used for the no-man's land between the French bridgeheads in Mainz and the Americans in Koblenz.
