Who knows the Rheingau best? The "locals." Become one of them: "Bike like a local" invites you to an interactive discovery journey. The 55-kilometer route connects Rüdesheim with Eltville and includes all towns along the Rhine shore, as well as the hillside communities of Kiedrich, Hallgarten, and Johannisberg, along with the Windeck. You can start the route at any point you like, and you can also shorten the round trip anywhere along the way if needed.

Orientation is provided by a total of 16 stations, encouraging stops at regular intervals. There you can play audio and video clips on your smartphone. In the clips, narrators present the Rheingau and its sights in 2-3 lively minutes. Sometimes they act as narrators presenting a town or a theme, at other times as imaginary figures or historical personalities. Occasionally, local animals take on the role of the narrator. This exciting mix ensures that it never gets boring along the way.

Because the project is funded through tourism contributions, you can start this tour exclusively and free of charge. The motto is: Start cycling and have fun!

Unser Tipp

Note: On weekends, the towpath (Rhine route between Rüdesheim and Eltville) is heavily frequented in the afternoons. We therefore recommend starting here in the mornings.
