Of course, this route can be started not only in Rüdesheim; Assmannshausen or Aulhausen also offer a good starting point for this round. Except for the paths through the forest and small sections on the steeper slopes, the route mostly runs on well-maintained farm roads.

If you start the route in Rüdesheim, it leads past Brömser Castle directly up into the vineyards and then through the vineyards (mostly Riesling) towards Assmannshausen. The route runs above the Ehrenfels castle ruins. In this section, you can enjoy a special view both into the broad Upper Rhine Valley and the deeply cut Middle Rhine Valley as well as the Mäuseturm directly opposite. A small loop leads directly to the castle ruins and returns with a steep staircase back to the main route, accompanied here by diverse bushes. The paths then twist down to Assmannshausen and go steeply up the vineyards (mostly red wine) directly opposite again. But before that, you should not miss a short detour into the village with its numerous dining options.

Through the varied Höllental, the route leaves the Rhine Valley towards Aulhausen, a small, tranquil village. From Aulhausen, it goes up into the Niederwald. Here, the character of the tour changes - from the open vineyard landscape the paths now lead into the forest. You cross the idyllic little avenue to the hunting lodge, which belongs to the Ostein Park, and shortly after reach the Niederwald Monument with the impressive view into the Rhine Valley. In the final section, it steadily goes downhill through the vineyards towards Rüdesheim back to the starting point.
