Restaurant & Wine Terrace at Hotel Schön

Our restaurant with Rhine terrace is part of Hotel Schön am Rhein and is located directly on the promenade of Assmannshausen, in the middle of the UNESCO World Heritage site Upper Middle Rhine Valley. Above the terrace grows a wisteria that is about 200 years old. Awnings protect against rain and sun, and on cooler days you can sit indoors with a view of the river.
From 2 p.m., there is coffee and cake from the in-house pastry chef Hans Kellner, along with tapas and wines from the Karl Schön winery, served in 0.25-liter carafes. From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., the evening menu offers hearty classics from the kitchen of an Assmannshausen cook. High chairs and a children's menu are available, and everything can also be taken away. Wine tasting is possible in our restaurant or, by arrangement, in person with Mr. Schön in the wine tavern next door.
For family celebrations and conferences, we offer a separate room or, upon request, the entire house. Since summer 2026, the hosts are Wiebke Sonnabend and Robin Bremer, in a house with 23 rooms that partly dates back to the year 1752.
Tuesday to Sunday 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday day off. Free parking in the immediate vicinity or affordable with reservation at the house, the Assmannshausen train station is about a five-minute walk away. Table inquiries are welcome by phone or at info@hotel-schoen.com.

Closed 1 to 25 November. From 26 November to 23 December open Thursday to Sunday, 2 to 9 pm. Closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. From 27 December to 2 January open Tuesday to Sunday, 2 to 9 pm. Then closed for the winter until one week before Easter.

You will find us at Rheinuferstraße 4 in Rüdesheim-Assmannshausen, right on the Rhine promenade. Assmannshausen station is about a five-minute walk away. Free parking is available close by, about 150 m upstream; a space right by the house can be reserved for a small fee. Bicycles can be parked under cover.
