Traffic Restrictions

Some railroad crossings may be closed

If you are traveling by car, please be aware of traffic restrictions due to closed railroad crossings between Wiesbaden and Lorchhausen:

During the complete closure from July 10 to December 12, several railroad crossings between Wiesbaden and Lorchhausen will be partially or permanently closed. The reason: The signal boxes that control the railroad crossings will be out of service for the duration of the modernization work. As a result, traffic lights and barriers for road traffic cannot be used. In addition, DB is modernizing some railroad crossings and installing new traffic lights and barriers equipped with state-of-the-art safety technology. Furthermore, construction vehicles and logistics trains will continue to use the track throughout the entire closure.

For this reason, DB emphasizes that entering the tracks is strictly prohibited and life-threatening, even during the total closure. Even at open railroad crossings, you must always observe the St. Andrew’s cross, which grants priority to rail traffic.
