This is how Carl Zuckmayer describes the people on the left and right of the Rhine. A beautiful image for what also shapes winemaking along this river: exchange, connection, and the joy of looking into the glass across borders.

What once started as a pure tasting of Assmannshausen Pinot Noir has long since grown. First, we turned our gaze to our Rheingau colleagues, later also to other exciting growing regions.

Now, in the third decade of this event, we look across the Rhine to Alsace – and we are looking forward to our guest winemakers from there.

The Rhine, the established wine culture, and the great passion for Pinot Noir connect the Rheingau and Alsace. However, subtle differences also reveal themselves in the glass: different soils, different climates, different signatures. Sometimes spicy and powerful, sometimes fine, fragrant, and elegant. Sometimes familiar, sometimes surprising.
