High above Rüdesheim, at the Niederwald Monument, you first see the World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley! But first, the Rheinsteig leads through vineyards and forest to the magic cave. Then follows the descent into the red wine mecca Assmannshausen.
After a strenuous ascent, rock path, panoramic views, and first castle views provide high spirits as the Rheinsteig winds through the slope to Lorch.
