Theme path
Rheingau Whisper Rüdesheim
medium
It starts with Mr. "Asbach and the Spirit of Wine". Clearly: Nothing was too difficult for this distiller: Why else should the young Hugo Asbach return from his training in France to found his start-up here? This was the start of a real global success! Just scan, this story is truly spirited. Walk from here to the Brömser Castle. It has already survived over a millennium and is one of the oldest castles on the Rhine! The scan leads to a trip into the castle history of Rüdesheim. Walk a bit further along Rheinstraße and you will reach the Drosselgasse. Now listen to the very different stories of our alleys. Why does no one know Schützengasse, but everyone knows Drosselgasse?
Now it's a short walk through Obergasse and the Eibingen district up to the Abbey of St. Hildegard. You definitely shouldn't miss this scan. True female power has been at home here, then and now: Hildegard of Bingen and the 44 power women of today's abbey.
From here, the path leads through the vineyards always keeping the Rhine and the vines in sight down to the outskirts of Rüdesheim. Behind the cemetery, you go under the railway underpass. Once you have crossed the street (B42), a quiet path leads to the ruin of the Hindenburg Bridge. Over 1100 meters that have disappeared: The Hindenburg Bridge was once the second largest Rhine bridge. Today, not much remains of it. Why, you will learn from the scan about the "Bridge of Remembrance".
From here you get back to the starting point via Kastanienallee and the harbor park along the Rhine.

Unser Tipp
You can browse wonderfully in the monastery shop and the wine shop of the Abbey of St. Hildegard. The decision between delicious spelt products, fine wines, or inspiring literature is not easy here.
