Long live Pinot Noir - Alsace visiting Rheingau
Long live Pinot Noir
“From the Rhine. From the great people’s mill. From Europe’s press!”
This is how Carl Zuckmayer describes the people on the left and right of the Rhine. A beautiful image for what also shapes viticulture along this river: exchange, connection, and the joy of looking into glasses across borders.
What once began as a pure tasting of Assmannshausen Pinot Noir has long since grown. First, we focused our gaze on our Rheingau colleagues, later on other exciting growing regions.
Now, in the third decade of this event, we are looking beyond the Rhine into Alsace – and we look forward to our guest winemakers from there.
The Rhine connects Rheingau and Alsace, the established wine culture, and the great passion for Pinot Noir. In the glass, the fine differences are also revealed: different soils, different climates, different signatures. Sometimes spicy and powerful, sometimes fine, fragrant, and elegant. Sometimes familiar, sometimes surprising.
