Niederwald Monument

Rüdesheim am Rhein
During the Romantic era of the 19th century, the temple became the focal point for many intellectuals of its time. Among the enthusiastic visitors were Brentano, Beethoven, and Goethe. Destroyed by Allied bombers in November 1944, it was inaugurated again after complete reconstruction in June 2006.
