Not far from Johannisberg, you take the track of the Rheinsteig in the sea of vineyards. After the ascent to the forest, where you pass Haus Neugebauer, the Rheinsteig descends and leads to the active Marienthal Monastery. Entertaining forest sections follow and lead past the former Nothgottes Monastery to the famous Abbey Eibingen, which goes back to Hildegard of Bingen. With a magnificent view, the Rheinsteig leads to the upper station, from where you descend to Rüdesheim.
