High above Rüdesheim, at the Niederwald Monument you can see it for the first time: the Middle Rhine Valley World Heritage! But first the Rheinsteig leads through vineyards and forest to the magic cave. Then comes the descent to the red wine mecca of Assmannshausen. After a tough ascent, the rocky path, panoramic views and first views of the castle ensure high spirits, while the Rheinsteig winds its way through the slope to Lorch.
