Hiking trail
Riesling Loop Heaven and Höllenberg
medium
Because of the slate location of the Höllenberg, the path steadily climbs uphill, with the steep vineyards and the Middle Rhine Valley always in view. At Eckersteinkopf, the trail leads through the orchards of Obsthof Heim towards the Taunus forests. At the "Meadows at Klosterwald" the landscape alternates between mixed forests and lush meadows. A hollow path leads through a small forest to Robert König winery before the descent into the enchanted valley of the Aulhausen stream follows. At the Assmannshausen estate of the Kloster Eberbach winery, the path meets the foot of the Höllenberg again.

Unser Tipp
Since the 1950s, various fruit varieties have been grown on the meadows around Obsthof Heim. In 2011, it was expanded by an in-house distillery where local fruits are processed into fine distillates. The apple wine tavern is open on weekends. www.obsthof-heim.de
The vineyards around Assmannshausen are more than just a Pinot Noir domain. The Höllenberg is also a diverse herb garden where more than 30 edible wild plants grow. The Assmannshausen herb growers conjure up homemade delicacies from wild fennel, ground ivy, and co., and invite you to herb hikes and relaxed menus.
